About The Hotel
Castle Murray House Hotel is fabulously located on a cliff top, with spectacular sea and stunning coastal views out over McSwyne’s Bay, in one of the most dramatic counties in Ireland. Dunkineely has Mountcharles to the east with its sea angling centre and boats available for hire and, to the west, Killybegs, probably Ireland’s busiest fishing village. The ruins of McSwyne’s Castle are owned by the Hotel and are floodlit at night which adds to an already wonderful inherently brilliant atmosphere. The word Hotel conjures up Modern 4 Star with Leisure Centre but CastleMurray is far more intimate than that – more inns and havens feel - which are not words used very much in Ireland but do describe very well a good Restaurant with excellent accommodation and atmosphere. The ten bedrooms are all en-suite, furnished individually, and have digital T.V. and all facilities. The bathrooms are beautiful having just been recently refurbished. One room is done in African style with black African carved face masks, giraffe cushions with leopard skin lampshades – you can fantasise you are on Safari though I would prefer to be here in Donegal. Another room has a pretty window seat and is beautifully decorated in colorful coral. CastleMurray is a very comfortable and relaxing spot. Have a jar in the newly refurbished bar before and after dinner – you can relax as you are not going to have to drive anywhere. Meals can be served outside on the verandah in the Summer. The food is wonderful – pick your own lobster out of a tank – prawns, scallops, crab and don’t forget to finish up with the Prune and Armagnac parfait…..it is to die for. Castle Murray is a strictly non-smoking house.Other Beautiful Places To Stay!
