About The Hotel
I don’t think there is anyone who doesn’t love Donegal and its people. One of the most stunning counties in the country, and also one of the most unspoiled, with a great history of genuine friendship and hospitality welcoming people from far and wide.
Donegal Manor was custom built in 2004. It is an upmarket boutique Guest House built with love and attention to detail by Sian and Michael Breslin, with all the touches of a good hotel and is now rated as a 4 Star Guest House - the only one in the local area. Along with all modern communications systems for the business or leisure traveller, their front desk is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
All of their bedrooms are spacious and smart. Named after local historic characters, they have standard and deluxe bedrooms furnished with pieces of fine Italian furniture. The standard rooms, apart from one on the ground floor, are on the newly developed loft floor of the house, with full facilities, lovely comfy double beds and crisp white linen, all immaculate with TV, refreshment trays and fine bathrooms.
The deluxe rooms have King or Super King Size beds, and the rooms are really big with flat screen TVs and comfortable seating areas. They also have large en-suite family rooms sleeping up to 2 adults and 1-3 children plus a cot; Do check on the availability of the larger rooms when booking.
They have a smashing homely style restaurant called Nana Murphy’s where you can enjoy a great breakfast. Try the porridge with Bailey’s Irish cream, and the super sausages from their local prize winning butcher. They have a great breakfast buffet and service breakfast which will truly set you up for the day. seasonally, it will vary slightly each day; it might perhaps be rhubarb and raspberry compote, or apricot and prunes poached in a spicy juice, or fresh fruit salad, all served with Greek yoghurt. They also do a great Granola. Follow up then with the Full Irish, scrambled or poached eggs, with delicious home made brown bread.
Donegal Manor now have a Cookery School, so it is also a great place to take a break and learn about cookery from an expert.
The best of Donegal hospitality at Sian and Michael’s – you won’t go wrong.
