About The Restaurant

Located at Townparks, in the heart of Dundalk, Raha Indian Cuisine is well worth a visit. The décor and ambiance here are excellent, as are the staff, creating the perfect environment in which to enjoy some superb authentic Indian food. Offering a wide array of classic and modern dishes prepared from fresh, locally sourced ingredients, the menu here has a little bit of something for everyone, with great vegetarian and vegan options as well, which is always something I love.

A superb selection of appetisers includes stalwart faves like aloo tikka, onion bhaji and Punjabi samosas stuffed with a delightful savoury filling of potatoes, peas and herbs. There’s crispy beetroot cheese balls seasoned with spices, ginger and garlic paste, not to mention traditional seekh kebabs of minced lamb meat blended with a host of spices and then tandoor grilled to perfection. The Amritsari fish pakora sees lightly battered fish seasoned with gram flour, spices, garlic and ginger paste, while basil murgh tikka offers tender and creamy pieces of boneless chicken marinated in a blend of yoghurt, basil leaves and herbs. They also have several platter options, allowing you to sample a variety of their delicious starters.

For the mains, there’s a similarly impressive menu with something for all tastes. Butter chicken, a comforting Delhi delicacy, marinated in yoghurt and spices and cooked in a creamy tomato sauce, is a chef’s specialty here, as is their Goan king prawn curry, bursting with flavours of spice, ginger, garlic, onion, coconut and tomato. The Raan E Sikandari, or ‘The Feast from the East’, as they call it, offers superb slow-roasted tender and succulent Irish lamb marinated overnight and served in an aromatic sauce. Just like with the starters, all the big favourites are on offer from Kormas to Tikka Masalas to Baltis to a good old spicy Vindaloo, all served with your choice of meat or veg, and all served with pulao or steamed rice. Lemon rice, garden rice and egg fried rice are also available to order. Biryani dishes aren’t to be forgotten, nor are their great tandoor specialties, such as Shashlik chicken sautéed with onions and peppers in a chettinad sauce. There’s also a dedicated vegetarian section with great dishes like Chana Masala, a protein packed dish of chickpeas cooked in a tangy spicy sauce, or Malai Kofta, fried balls of potato, cheese and mixed veg in a creamy sauce of blended nuts, chopped onions, tomatoes and spices.

Round off your delicious feast with a sweet treat from their tasty selection of desserts. Think mango kulfi, a dense and creamy frozen favourite topped with nuts, or gulab jamun, deep fried sweet dough balls made of milk solids soaked in a syrup of rose water, suger and cardamom. If a decadant chocolate brownie served with ice-cream is more your thing, don't worry, they've got you covered.

By the way, besides from the great food at Raha, they also have a great selection of wines and craft beers to compliment your meal.
