About The Hotel
Anyone who parks in Drury Street Car Park will be quite familiar with Brooks Hotel directly across the road, right at the heart of what is known today as Dublin’s creative quarter. Indeed, I very often park here on a restaurant or shopping mission with Drury Street’s warren of criss-cross streets en route to Grafton and Dawson Street being lined with an always interesting mish mash of small boutiques, galleries, jewellery stores, cafes, pubs, restaurants, and so on.
Opened in 1997 by Hotelier Charlie Sinnott, Brooks was sold in recent years to the Irish American billionaire John Malone backed MHL Group, which has some 13 hotels in Ireland including the InterContinental in Ballsbridge, Powerscourt, Glenlo Abbey in Galway, the Galmont and the Limerick Strand.
Having spent around €7m upgrading the hotel, today Brooks Hotel is indeed a great place to stay, especially if you are looking for a high-end city escape in the capital, that won’t break your heart when you get the bill.
The bedrooms are bright, modern and luxurious, with all the amenities one would expect in this day and age - air conditioning, complimentary Wi-Fi, smart TV with casting function, mineral water, coffee machine, luxurious bespoke bed linen with duck down bedding and locally produced Dublin Herbalist bathroom amenities as well as 24-hour room service.
As part of the hotel’s upgrade, they also launched their superb 62 Drury Street Bar & Brasserie, where you can pop in for breakfast and enjoy the likes of scrambled eggs and smoked salmon or maybe a 3 egg omelette, or maybe drop by sometime in the afternoon and dine from a comprehensive All Day Menu (12pm-9pm) of small or larger plates, including shepherd’s pie, prawn & mussels linguini, an 8oz striploin or a steak sandwich, plus a trio of sharing boards.
There’s a 26 seat private cinema at Brooks Hotel too. Perfect for events like film screenings, presentations, book launches, celebrations etc, with dining and overnight packages available to complete your event.
