Restaurant Review - Tabla & Coppinger
Wednesday 29 April 2026
When it comes to lunchtime in France, if you haven’t bagged yourself a table by the time the clock strikes noon, you’re on a sticky wicket. Rocking up, delighted with yourself, at 1.30pm to some little bistro you’ve spied, will see you left out in the cold while the smug locals occupying the tables will look at you pityingly as service is wrapped up. Too many times, it’s happened to me.
However, as we were on home ground, we took our chances and headed for an impromptu visit to a new French bistro in Mount Merrion, in what started out as Little Mike’s a few years ago, became the rather good Esther’s in between, and is now Tábla.
