Restaurant Review - Coyne's Gastropub

We forget how lucky we are on this little island. Whether we fancy a blast of air from the Atlantic Ocean, or a breeze from the Irish Sea, we can basically be coast to coast in less than three hours, rather than five or seven days as it would be across the pond in Trumpland. This May bank holiday weekend just gone, many will have been enjoying just such an early summer escape by the coast, and some fun, casual grub, as I myself was doing in Galway and Connemara recently.
I’m always in search of a really good chowder, one that spells out the essence of summer, of being away from it all. It’s easy to find the thin watery ones, or the flour-thickened pasty ones, but it’s much harder to find the one that exudes wafts of appetising fresh flavours of the sea while approaching the table; one that you want to get your ‘chops’ around, with some really good homemade bread and Irish butter. Well, I found it!
