There aren’t many restaurants in Dublin, or anywhere else around the country, that can boast of being full on a Tuesday evening. But then, I guess Kevin Hui’s high-end elegant China Sichuan, which will soon be celebrating its 50th birthday, has been getting it right for a very long time. Founded by his parents, the late David Hui and his wife Julie, originally in Kilmacud, Kevin grew up in the restaurant industry and never stays still. He’s always moved the business forward with the times, including the move some years ago to its current stylish location in the Sandyford Industrial Estate.

Now, with a new head chef ‘Jack’ Lew Kong Loy, ex Hakkasan in Mayfair, in another major step, having never done takeaways from the restaurant down all the years, he’s launched his fab new airy and bright China Sichuan To Go just a couple of doors down from the mothership. Indeed, it’s Sichuan and Cantonese cuisine to go, like you’ve never had before, being created by a trio of chefs operating in a shiny new kitchen.
