Take the R558 from Tralee. Brook Manor Lodge is on the left as you drive out the Fenit Road.
I always feel it is very nice for visitors to stay in Hotels and Guest Houses with a face, family run establishments with a personality, not just faceless places with four walls, a Bible and a TV screen.
We have been lucky in one aspect in the last ten years in that the quality of accommodation on offer has improved so greatly – and at really good prices. One of the Great Places to Stay is Brook Manor Lodge in Tralee.
Jerome and Sandra Lordan’s purpose built Guest House is absolutely superb. It offers all the five star tweaks of a really special place to stay, in luxury and comfort, with smiling welcoming faces to greet and look after you. It is magnificently furnished with beautiful drapes, wallpapers, and fixtures. They have double, twin, family or single rooms and all are non smoking. Each room comes equipped with TV/DVD/Radio, direct dial telephone, free WIFI, complinmintary mineral water, trouser press, iron and hairdryer.
Tralee makes a great base for a holiday in the South West, it is the gateway to Dingle, the Ring of Kerry, and good also for working upwards towards Limerick and Clare on days out. The area is awash with famous Golf Clubs from the Arnold Palmer designed Tralee Golf Club, to Ballybunion and Killarney, Beaufort and Dooks, all within 40 minutes drive, so you can be ready to Tee off at the crack of dawn. Waterville Golf links are also accessable being just 90 minutes drive. There is lots more to do in the area, and if he is playing golf, you can take yourself off to a Beauty Spa or shopping in Tralee where there is a great shopping at Manor West Retail Park. Sandra will give you all the lowdown on the shopping scene and where to eat in Tralee. There is also a famous Aquadome in Tralee – perfect place to take the kids – they will love it.
After a good night’s sleep in peaceful surroundings, you can look forward to a cracking breakfast, served in the conservatory, with a lovely aspect over a babbling brook and acres of lawns and meadlowlands, with Slieve Mish Mountains as a backdrop. There is a lovely airy feel here which gives a fine start to the day. There is a great buffet breakfast with a wide choice of fruits, cereals, yoghurts, freshly baked breads, and charcuteries. You can have the Full Irish with crispy bacon and sizzling sausages, your egg sunny side up or turned, it can be poached, scrambled or boiled, you can have smoked salmon, or whatever is your heart’s desire will be happily met.
Jerome and Sandra Lordan have built a great, well deserved, reputation for themselves and you only do that by doing the job well. It is all about true hospitality and at Brook Manor Lodge you get it.
