About The Hotel

You have to smile every time you walk into the hip Beacon Hotel - and that’s a very good thing in any man’s language. It’s wild cool and funky but also beautiful clear cut and offers a very high standard of accommodation, bar and dining facilities.

The Beacon is part of The Fitzpatrick Design Collection set up in 2001 by Paul Fitzpatrick and also includes The Morgan Hotel in Temple Bar. Paul who comes from the Fitzpatrick hotel dynasty of Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel in Killiney, and Fitzpatrick’s Hotel in New York, wanted to create something very different for Dublin – perhaps a touch of Miami in some areas – and this he has done very successfully because The Beacon and its My Thai restaurant are as popular with locals as with visitors which is a great thing.

The big white bright airy reception with eclectic furnishings leads straight into The Crystal Bar which is absolutely beautiful and very popular for cocktails and drinks both before and after a delicious dinner in My Thai.

Room are cool, comfortable, and classy with all the modern comfort and requirements of today’s sophisticated guest. They run from Standard, through Queen, King Delux up to a superb Penthouse Suite on the 7th Floor. All rooms have flat screen TV, in room movies and music on demand, fully interactive wifi network connectivity, minibar, workdesk and message retrieval. Queen rooms offer more space. King Delux rooms are seriously cool and luxurious designer bedrooms with extra spacious Phillippe Starck bathrooms with baths and rainforest showers. The Luxury Penthouse Suite lives up to its name with its own Phillippe Starck free standing bathtub placed on a raised platform in the bedroom itself. The penthouse also has a separate living area complete with a giant day bed packed with plump cushions to crash out with a glass of Champagne after all that shopping in nearby Dundrum Shopping Centre. The views are fantastic and just outside the living area is their private roof garden complete with sun loungers for you to take in the sun or admire the Wicklow Mountains.

After all that shopping you will be ready for a cocktail in the Crystal bar. Actually they have an extensive Cocktail List so why not try a ‘Mistress” which is made from vodka, grenadine and grapefruit juice, shaken and topped with bitter lemon served in a tall glass. The décor in the My Thai is beautiful focusing on a large vibrant picture of Thai monks walking through grasses. There is always a great buzz in the place the food is authentic and delicious with service excellent under the baton of Maitre d’ Harsh. It is very popular with Southside families too who love delicious Asian food. You can read more about the food and ambiance of My Thai in the restaurant section of the website.

They offer tremendous value and it is perfect for weekend breaks or business. It is beside the Beacon Clinic, Dundrum Shopping Centre, Leopardstown Race Course, near the Luas, and of course the Sandyford Industrial Estate. The Beacon is truly a Great Place to Stay for those wanting a vibrant fun experience in a great hip hotel with access to the Dublin of now.
