About The Restaurant

This four star celestial establishment’s manifesto is “grace, elegance and relaxation”. If that is what you are after then you won’t be disappointed. Looking out the window you can see the lush foliage of the National Park just beyond the hotel grounds. The hotel’s interior seems to melt into its surroundings – rich brown furnishings and darkwood floors, plenty of glass to let in natural light.

In the bedroom department – always very important in this life - you’ll be spoiled for choice. There are no less than 5 categories to select from, ranging from deluxe to the Presidential suite. In between are superior deluxe, executive and deluxe executive suites. Try them all if you’ve got the dosh and enjoy bed-hopping. Not only that, but you can nominate to slip between the sheets of a king sized or twin bed arrangement in each room. These people love your lungs too, and smoking is prohibited in all bedrooms. Cigs will have to be al fresco and anyway it’s a good excuse to check out the grounds. Facilities available in each room include – hairdryer, minibar, digital movies, broadband, complimentary bathrobe and slippers and for the neat freaks – an iron and ironing board.

Now for one of my favourite elements of staying away – the nosh. The Brehon restaurant has won one of the most coveted culinary prizes, the AA Rosette which guarantees high quality and finesse. Head Chef Michael Bolster will ensure that your meals will display both, and be tasty to boot. Step into the restaurant and take in its classic and classical décor in muted cream and brown shades with a gorgeous wooden. No doubt if you are like us you will feel thirsty at some point! Drop in to the Brehon Bar which serves barfood, cocktails and champers pretty much all day.

No four star hotel is complete without a chill out factor and The Brehon doesn’t fail to impress here either. The Angsana Spa offers an extensive range of treatments and massages, bringing the cool and refreshing vibe of the rainforest to your tired, aching bones. For instance – try the herb sauna or hot and cold spa for revitalisation. Spa packages are available and range from half day and day options to weekend pampering stays.

If you’ve got a group of friends or colleagues who indulge in the same hobbies as you – why not book a special interest break available in Spring and Autumn. The hotel can plan a pottery, photography, Bridge, gardening, golf or cookery break for you. Or if you enjoy a louder form of leisure, the hotel also offers Entertainment packages which include B+B and tickets to concerts held in Killarney.

This place certainly has it all, and is it any wonder, since our old Brehon ancestors were wise in their ways.
