About The Restaurant

Pacino’s is one of those places which, like the Godfather, has all angles covered. Located just off Grafton Street, at Pacino’s you can start the day with your wholesome bowl of porridge, come back for lunch, or for dinner, and even be entertained by Theatre nights, or salsa classes, or celebrate your special family or corporate occasions in their Cellar Bar. Pacino’s is almost a way of life and it is a very popular spot.

Pacino’s was established in 1994 and operated very successfully as a family friendly restaurant, which it still is, until 2006 when the owner retired and sold the business to the Martin family who with a major refurbishment of the entire building have taken Pacino’s to the next level appropriate for the times we are now in. The atmosphere is cosy and friendly with brickwork, wooden floors and soft lighting. The menu is Italian and they are known for classic and gourmet pizzas, ciabatta sandwiches, innovative salads and pastas – simple Italian cuisine with generous portions offering good value.

The day kicks off with the breakfast menu at 8 a.m. and which they in a very civilised fashion serve until 11.30 a.m. and until noon on Saturdays and Sundays. The aforementioned steaming bowl of porridge comes with a choice of fresh fruit and cream or honey and sultanas. They do breakfast pancakes or crepes with maple syrup, poached eggs on toast, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, and the very popular Eggs Benedict, Eggs Florentine, and the not so common variation, which I love, Eggs Royale which is with smoked salmon. Of course you can have your Full Irish too which really is the full McCoy with bacon and sausages, baked beans, poached or grilled organic egg, mushrooms and tomatoes, homemade hash browns, black and white pudding. Omelettes are made to order, don’t be afraid to ask, and you can also have a simple poached eggs on toast – pretty well anything you want.
You can also have the healthy or vegetarian options, Weetabix, Organic Yogurt, Granola.

The lunch menu offers a very wide range with a dozen salads which can be had as ‘large or small’ such as Blue Cheese Spinach salad, Goat’s Cheese, Chicken Caesar, Classic Caprese, Prawn & Artichoke, and Chicken and Avocado. Ciabatta and Open Sandwiches come with fries and Ciabattas include Toasted Jalapeno, Parma, Cajun Chicken, Paesano, or 5 oz steak. There are also wraps – Chicken & Hummus, Feta Cheese, Chicken Pesto.

Pizzas are 10” at lunch time, 10” and 12” in the evenings, served with complimentary garlic bread and are made from homemade pizza dough made fresh every day. They are very reasonably priced and have all your favourites Margarita, Quattro Formaggi, Napoletana, and then some. Hot Chick is with tomato sauce, grated mozzarella, hot Cajun chicken and homemade sour cream, whilst Alfredo sports ham, black Kalamata olives and cream, and my favourite Pizza Jalapeno with tomato sauce, grated Mozzarella, ham, sliced chorizo and pepperoni, topped with Jalapeno peppers. Pastas are yummy and you have a choice of fettuccini, spaghetti or penne, to combine with your sauce of choice – alla Carbonara, con Salmone, Napoletana, alla Diavola, Verdi…….and they make pasta suitable for coeliacs. The lunch menu also includes posh fish 'n chips in the form of grilled fillet of haddock with tartare sauce and a choice of baked potato, French fries or salad.

In the evening the chargrill comes into force as well with extra fish dishes such as char grilled swordfish served with fries or salad and salsa verde, as well as chargrilled fillet of salmon with Tiger prawns, Marsala sauce, served with mash or fries. There is a wide selection of chicken dishes from an 8oz grilled chicken burger, breast of chicken, to Pollo a la Funghi – chicken in a creamy wild mushroom, Mozzarella and chive sauce. There is also Chicken Bergamese which is chargrilled breast of chicken marinated in lemon and served in a creamy broccoli, roasted red pepper and wild mushroom sauce or Verdi in wild mushroom and spinach sauce. Most of the chicken dishes come with a choice of either fries, pasta, or baked potato. Their beef is excellent, cooked on the grill, from their homemade beefburgers on a homemade toasted floury bap, with crispy bacon, sliced beef tomato, lettuce and red onion, served with fries and coleslaw to their excellent steaks – 10 oz sirloins - cooked to your liking and served with vegetables, sauteed onions, baked potato or fries, and a choice of sauce – Au Poivre, Alla Crema, Napolitana, or Garlic Butter.

Save room for desserts – all homemade! Home Dulce de Latte Banoffe, Crème Brulee, Cheesecake, Raspberry Crumble, Apple Pie, Chocolate Biscuit Cake.
