Our Latest Great Place to Eat - Richy's Restaurant & RCafe

Nobody fails to be enchanted and tantalized by the colourful streets and squares of the West Cork town of Clonakilty.   It is a town that is bursting with atmosphere and confidence.  Cork people refer to it as ‘Clon’ in a knowing familiar way.  The long narrow streets are generally one way and full of multicoloured shop fronts, which cry out to be visited.   Emmet Square is a beautiful place at the center of which are the Kennedy Gardens and also a monumental statue of the legendary Michael Collins who lived in Clonakilty.
Located on Clonakilty Bay, it is a wonderful destination for holidays, and is also now famous for its food – including Clonakilty black pudding.

One of the best known restaurants in the South West is Richy’s Restaurant and RCafé.  Since first opening his doors in 2002 Richy Virahsawmy has been tantalizing locals and visitors alike with his cracking eclectic food bearing the influences of the Mauritian cuisine on which he was raised as a child.  His food is never dull, always interesting, combining the best of local and seasonal produce, with wonderful spices and tweaks.    It is a place for all times and all seasons, and you can kick your day off here with breakfast or brunch, feast on American style pancakes or Eggs Benedict, come back for lunch, and finish off the day with a cracking dinner menu.
