Our Latest Great Place to Eat - Amicus

Monday 19 December 2011

Being part-time residents of Kinsale, we often pop into Douglas in Cork en route from Dublin to do some shopping.  Douglas is an area which has lots of lovely Boutiques and shops with interesting things.  Naturally, one also has to have something to eat, so Amicus in East Douglas Village is very popular with us.  They have a great varied accessible and eclectic menu from morning thru’ evening.

Amicus was started out in Cork city by Ursula and Robert Hales, and where they now have a large restaurant in Paul Street, another favourite shopping area of mine, in the heart of Cork’s Huguenot quarter.  With the very large Paul Street Carpark on its doorstep, it is another very convenient location to have a bite to eat and a nose around the dinky shops in the area.  Located in a stunning 19th century listed warehouse with stone and brick walls, the amazing two story windows and exposed timber roof structure, creates a spectacular dining ambience be it day or night.....
